I am a huge Seinfeld fan. I have a habit of incorporating scenes into my conversations as often as I can, without being weird about it. It's a show about nothing, and nothing is fascinating.
There's an episode where Frank and Estelle Costanza turn George's old room into a "Game Room." The problem is, the game they decide to play is pool, and the room they have, isn't much bigger than the pool table.
Kramer and Frank decide to play a round, and of course, it's as ridiculous as you think it will be, with no room to make a decent shot. Enter the Maestro, he wants to play too. Kramer decides that the maestro's conducting wand is the perfect size pool stick to use and you can guess how the rest goes.
What gets me every time, is one simple insignificant line.
Frank gave their game room a name, then immediately forgot it. Frank wants the maestro to know what it is, yet in his usual bewildered state of mind, he cannot recall the name. "It's uhhhh...it’s, it’s ‘The Place To Be.” He blurts out so proudly. I laugh every time, and it’s not even that funny. But then I think about it. It really is the place to be because that’s where they are. (Some weird circular logic. Seinfeld was philosophically deeper than we thought.)
Anyway, I say all that to say…the Downtown Hemet Farmer’s Market and Saturday Street Fair, is “The Place To Be.” Why? Because we are there. We’ve got small business pride, all day Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
